Sustainability Measures at the Event
Use of Refillable Bottles and Water Dispensers
In line with our commitment to environmental responsibility, we provide water dispensers and cups at all key areas, including near the medal pontoon where athletes arrive directly after their races. Clearly marked drinking water stations are available in the changing rooms, allowing athletes to refill their personal bottles with tap water. We communicate this initiative in advance and during the event through the official website, social media, and on-site signage to ensure awareness among all participants and visitors.
Local Volunteer Engagement
The event is supported by local volunteers from the surrounding community. Young members of the local rowing club assist with support services, while working-age residents and younger retirees take on roles in competition areas and logistics. As volunteers live nearby, this helps reduce travel emissions and strengthens the connection between the event and the local community.
Encouraging Walking and Cycling to the Venue
We encourage all participants and spectators to reach the venue by walking, cycling, or using the organized shuttle buses from their hotels. These environmentally friendly transport options are promoted across digital platforms and at the event site.
E-Mobility in Event Operations
We actively implement e-mobility solutions to reduce our environmental footprint. Electric boats are used by judges and support crews, electric vans transport officials and delegates, and e-scooters help staff move efficiently around the venue. This approach supports low-emission, sustainable event management.
